Natural Range: Southeast Asia.
Size: Up to 22cm ( 8.5 inches) .
Food: All foods accepted, Particularly sinking formulations and bottom-dwelling livefoods.
Tank Conditions: Since this species is an active burrower-Both when at rest or when escaping from predators they also like to search for buried livefoods. The aquarium substratum must be fine-grained and smooth-round-edged. It sould be also deep enough to allow specimens sufficient space to bury themselves. Plants may be uprooted as a result of this species. It has the habit of disappearing almost completely from view for long periods. Sometimes with just its eyes protruding above the substratum.
Temperature: 25-28c ( 77-82f) .
Water Conditions: Water chemistry is not critical but softish, slightly acid water is recommended.
